In today’s episode Martha Cinader, Judy Talaugon and Jay Rodriguez Sierra talk about a 100th Birthday event for Malcolm X that Jay participated in, in Harlem, NYC. Jay talks about how he felt playing in the street, and the poets who asked him to play with them after his gig was over. He explains cipher, and the conversation turns to its origins in prison, the abolitionist movement, what Malcolm X would be saying about our situation today, peri-urban populations and codifying international human rights in our own municipalities.
