This Week in the Garden
Greetings, fellow Earthlings, and thank you to all of you who have listened, read, followed, contributed and been heard on our podcast/radio show, on our streaming radio station and on our website. Soon, you will have another way to participate – at the Listen & Be Heard Open Mic at Coupe’s Corner in Greenville, SC! I hope to see you soon. -M

EVENTS
I am excited to announce that Listen & Be Heard will host a weekly OPEN MIC POETRY and Jam Session starting Wednesday, June 19 at Coupe’s Corner in downtown Greenville, SC.
Listen & Be Heard began as an open mic in the East Village in New York City, and I’m really looking forward to reviving it in yet another form right here in Greenville.
RADIO SHOW
This week in the audio garden we are featuring Martha’s Kitchen Garden, which is the home of Listen & Be Heard. I talk a little about the three year plan/dream of combining an educational/events center with a new radio station for Greenville, WLBH 92.1FM, and introduce you to all my animal companions.
I also dug around and found an archival reading by Ruth Ozeki from her novel My Year of Meats, and a radio play by my mentor, Steve Cannon, called Dis for Dat.
THE LISTEN & BE HEARD HOUR FOR READERS & WRITERS is available everywhere as a podcast on Thursdays, and heard on WPVM – Asheville, NC KCEI – Taos, NM, WXOX – Louisville, KY, KCOI – Ames, IA and on WLBH.org.
COLUMNS
CYNDI COMBS must have written her latest column just for me, as I have now stopped drinking caffeine for four whole days… she talks about how caffeine and sugar actually deplete our energy and suggests getting “fat bombed” instead…recipe included.
COLUMNS
It is good to take my place here, back at my desk, to write about all things L&BH, after several years of life-changing events and decisions. I am also documenting my daily chores, experiments and roadblocks here at MARTHA’S KITCHEN GARDEN. The segment on the radio show this week draws from the updates I have been posting on the website, which include short videos of all the animals, gardens, woods, ponds and creek.
