I’m an intern at Listen & Be Heard radio. I’ve been working here for a few months and have had some amazing experiences so far. From learning to use programs like Adobe Premier and Express, to writing reviews on books, and my favorite music artists. I gained many new skills through the time I’ve worked here.
I work with amazing intelligent people who fill me with wisdom every day that I am in the office. When I first got this job I wasn’t sure what to expect but through my time here the amount of knowledge I’ve gained and purpose I feel is far more than I thought I would, and still with a few months to go I’m very excited for what’s to come.
This internship gives me a feeling of purpose that I was really searching for before I started with L&BH. My most recent project is a report on the Nuyorican poet Pedro Pietri and as a Nuyorican myself, this is the kind of work I really enjoy learning from and doing,
Working here has exposed me to more knowledge about my own culture while spreading that knowledge myself. From the work to the people, this experience has been amazing and I’m extremely grateful for all that’s happened and to come.
