Barbara Tran was visited by a variety of birds while writing her recent poetry collection. Precedented Parrotingwas a finalist for Canada’s Governor General’s Literary Award, a CBC pick for Best Canadian Poetry of 2024, and a finalist for the League of Canadian Poets’ Gerald Lampert and Pat Lowther Awards. A member of the collective She Who Has No Master(s), Barbara is currently at work on a feature-length screenplay inspired by the life of Khánh Ký, an early 20^th century Vietnamese photographer. Most mornings, Barbara can be found along the shore of Lake Ontario with her rescue dog Sprocket.
