Patience was the missing ingredient my friends. I spent more time on foreplay, allowing the pot to heat up gently. I eased it back down too, once the weights got to gently rocking and rolling, and then when the ingredients were at the perfect moment, I waited for the weights to completely stop moving before removing the pot from my glass stove top.

So later today will finally be the time to combine my sliced carrots and fresh rosemary with my home made chicken broth, minus the soup I made with some of it last night (not in the masterplan either but I have a sore throat and it was good to me.)

In Search of Tahini

In my travels I have turned to middle eastern shops, when available, for a nutritious and reasonably priced meal. But in all the time that I have been here I never knew about Pita House, both a middle eastern market and restaurant! There's a sign on the door that says cash or check only, and that's the way they have been doing it for thirty two years now, according to the very friendly and polite young man at the register.

I decided to do two things with the eggplants: prepare some to be pureed, and some to be frozen in cubes. I pulled out all of my cookie sheets and turned on both my ovens.
