This month of May marks our seven year anniversary on the homestead. There are pleasures that come from a seven year garden, that you just can’t enjoy the first couple of years. This summer may be the summer that we get to enjoy both kiwis and pomegranates.
My husband has memories of eating pomegranates from a tree in his backyard when he was growing up here in Greenville. He takes a very ripe pomegranate (a little soft) and makes it softer by rolling it around under the pressure of the palm of his hand. Then he pokes a hole in the skin and drinks the juice by squeezing the pomegranate. I remember eating pomegranates (from the supermarket) by breaking them open and eating the ripe seeds. He doesn’t like to eat the seeds.
So what’s your method?
