Dawn would arrive too soon to count your charms:
Dark clouds might hide the full moon from my sight,
And it’s summer that soon the fall disarms:
Sometimes desire is cooled by the heat
And often indoors there’s a very cold breeze;
And rats might be running bold in the street,
by some lone wolves looking for a main squeeze;
But our love will never fade in the light
Nor your smile lose its charm as years go by,
Nor shall death keep our love from taking flight,
When this song is sung and lonely girls sigh:
So long as lovers kiss and poets strive,
So long this song will keep our love alive.
