Don’t Miss the After-Party

martha cinader

The word has been spreading and people are joining in the plans even as I write this column, about our First Annual L&BH Summer Arts Festival. Since writing about the event last week and inviting artists to join the growing list of vendors who will participate, we have gotten commitments from Jim Cosgrove, photographer, Ric Mariani, photographer and festival sponsor, Barry Baldwin, sculptor, Carol Bass and Keith Nelson who will be selling etchings of Vallejo and the north coast, and the Hogan High Drumline Music Program. It is not too late for you to join in. The deadline is not until August 15. All you have to do is fill out our application and fax it in or bring it by the café before the 15th.
While the activity on the sidewalks of Marin street is taking place, inside Listen & Be Heard Poetry Café there will be a non-stop free party featuring some of the entertainers we have been cultivating at the café since we opened our doors more than two years ago. There will be an acoustic jam session, storytelling, poetry, our own local superstar Gabi Wilson, comedy and an after-party that you won’t want to miss, featuring the Talons. The Talons have a few conga players, a full rhythm section and feature several soloists as well.
Please join us for the fun and introduce yourself to me and Tony while you’re at it.
Wishing you Peace and Poetry.
