Sherwood’s play contains social commentary, yet very philosophical humor. A young waitress describes her attraction to a traveling poet as “a natural object of charity.” Sherwood’s characters are complex, yet a little atypical. Mostly, the energetic cast carries their emotional complexity and embellished personalities. I recommend this production for Sherwood’s rich writing and its entertainment value.
