In September Phoenix Rising is beginning production of a new CD of music called 'Ascension' specifically designed for relaxation, meditation, massage, and de-stressing in a tight world.

In addition to Wendy Loomis and Monica Williams, 'Ascension' will include 7 amazing artists: Jennifer Lim (guzheng), Debra Podjed (tablas), Jessica Styler (hang drum), Suellen Primose (cello), Irina Mikhailova (vocals), Karen Segal (guitar), and Toronto-based Suzca (violin).

Recording will take place at OTR Studios in Belmont and will be engineered by 5-time Grammy-nominated Cookie Marenco. "Formerly an A&R rep for Windham Hill, Marenco combines the skills of a master engineer with industry savvy. Her work with Liquid Audio placed her in
a position to be the first engineer to record a digital music file that became the first paid live recorded download. Blue Coast Records, the audiophile label founded by Marenco and Jean Claude Reynaud, now sets the standard for hifi acoustic music recording. Marenco became
the first woman to sit among the 30 top engineers for the first surround grammy nominations a few years ago. As a writer for EQ magazine, she continues to offer educational and truthful insights to audio engineering." http://www.otrstudios.com
