Rob Reich is often seen playing with popular Bay Area bands including The Nice Guy Trio, Sean Hayes, and Gaucho.  Tonight’s show at the Red Poppy marks the release of his debut solo accordion CD, The Balancing Act.  This long awaited CD bridges tradition and innovation with a distinctive instrumental voice.

In addition to being a versatile solo accordionist, Rob Reich is a highly desired collaborator and composer.  With a uniquely expressive style, a keen musical instinct, and a diverse repertoire, Rob Reich has astonished listeners far and wide.

On Friday December 19th, Rob Reich will unveil his CD with a concert at The Red Poppy Art House, an intimate acoustic performance space in the Mission district of San Francisco.  Throughout the evening’s performance, Rob Reich will be joined by some of his favorite musical collaborators, including guitarist Dave Ricketts from Gaucho, trumpeter Darren Johnston and bassist Daniel Fabricant from The Nice Guy Trio, singer-songwriter Sean Hayes, and singer Ariela Morgenstern from New York.  Repertoire will span centuries and styles, including music by Kurt Weill, Frederic Chopin, and J.S. Bach; as well as selections from the Klezmer, Musette, and other folk idioms.
