WHAT IT’S ABOUT
Stockton Avenue, in El Cerrito, is a little known haven for many local artists. You are invited to come see what it’s all about by strolling the Avenue this summer. Meet the artists at their studios or galleries, and have a great time exploring art.
WHERE TO START
At any of the host galleries, there will be a brochure for that night’s stroll. This brochure will include a map of participating artists studios situated along Stockton Avenue.
Our host galleries are:
The Glenn Gallery of Art, 7027 Stockton Ave. 558-1078
MC Art Gallery, 10344 San Pablo Ave. 528-1349
Well Grounded Tea & Coffee Bar, 6925 Stockton Ave. 528-4709
Fingado Art Gallery, 7025 Stockton Ave. 593-9081
TIME AND DATES
The Stroll occurs on the second Friday of every other month beginning in May:
May 9th, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
July 11th, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
September 12th, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
November 14th, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
We are coming up on our third Stockton Avenue Art Stroll on Friday,
September 12th. The last stroll had twelve art venues, representing
sixty talented local artists. That is nearly double the venues of our
first Stroll, including the new Fingado Art Gallery, and TWENTY more
artists! We were dazzled by the acts of Magical Nathaniel, and also
enjoyed the spontaneous performances by two groups of local musicians on
the sidewalks in front of some galleries.
This one promises to be just as memorable, with artists of even more
stripes participating. The El Cerrito Senior Center will be hosting an
Art Salon for participants to make their own art. A local writer will be
celebrating the release of her new children’s books. And a program about
piano including performances by students will be held at the United
Methodist Church. Come out and immerse yourself in the art that El
Cerrito’s Stockton Avenue has to offer.
