Days into Nights into Days into Nights at Poetry Cafe in Vallejo California

March 12th, 2008 by martha mims · No Comments

Week of March 5 at Listen and Be Heard Poetry Cafe

The news is full of Vallejo lately. As usual, it seems for all the wrong reasons, or for whatever reason or angle already exists to twist the story, ridicule or point to as the thing not to do. What we do, here at Listen & Be Heard Poetry Cafe in downtown Vallejo, is listen and be heard.

Tony is here early in the morning and late at night, serving up poetry and coffee too. And me too, making muffins and music with verse and no rehearsal. Our stage has been and is open. The poetry bell is the signal that freedom of speech, freedom to be who you are and say what you have to say, is respected here, and there are those who enter in search of it.

Here’s some pictures from last week during the open mic and saturday morning jam session. If anyone wants to send pictures from the Red Cup Affair affair on Saturday night, I can post them. I was too tired to take pictures by Saturday night.

Wishing you all Peace and Poetry.
