The documentary Sicko is Michael Moore?Äôs appraisal of the managed care health system. To most effectively illustrate the state of the U.S. health care setup, Mr. Moore interviewed end users, physicians, HMO workers, nurses and pharmacists. The film takes the viewer to England, France, Canada and Cuba as a means to compare and contrast heath care delivery infrastructures. Moore even arranges for three folks to interface with the Cuban health care system. The doc explores the political and financial angles as well, including a brief history of the rise of the HMO.

Criticized as being one sided, I doubt any HMO executive would have been willing to appear in Sicko. Not just educational, the segments of Sicko were weaved together via ironic anecdotes and tie-ins to 9/11.
