I like to watch

May 9th, 2007 by s.n. jacobson · No Comments

It may come as no surprise to most who know me, that I am the consummate voyeur (it came with the Nikon). I love to sneak peeks behind closed doors. And this weekend, Benicia?Äôs Open Studio was good for me.

An artist?Äôs studio is usually as private as any sheiks harem. Whether it is a cluttered mess (as is mine), or every brush is lined up by size and make in OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder) fashion. It tells a lot about an artist. I think I spent as much time looking at the inspiration tacked to the walls as I did the art on display. Below is some of what I saw. Click here for a slide show of the behind-the-canvas-look at what motivates these artists.
