February 14th, 2007 by martha mims · No Comments

My version of Bill Vartnaw is that he is the powerful poet from Petaluma who publishes prophetic poets and appears at our open mic periodically with people of pride. This Friday, February 16, he will be our featured poet during the Open Mic at Listen & Be Heard Poetry Caf?. The caf? i slocated at 818 Marin Street in Downtown Vallejo, CA. The phone number is 707-554-4540. Bill?s version of Bill Vartnaw follows.

Bill Vartnaw was born and raised in Petaluma. He moved to San Francisco is 1973 and established Taurean Horn Press the following year. To date, he has published thirteen books, including his own ?In Concern: for Angels (1984).? The fourteenth, ?Whose Really Blues by Q. R. Hand, Jr.,? is due out sometime this year. He has published two other “poemphlets,” ?If You Should Die a Fool, You Will Be No Less Wiser For It? (1975) and ?In the Suburbs of My Childhood? (1996). He returned to Petaluma with his fianc?e, Bridget Reymond, in 1998. They were married a year later.
