Saturday, February 3 the BENICIA LIBRARY FOUNDATION will hold a reception in the Dona Benicia Room at the BENICIA PUBLIC LIBRARY. Light refreshments will be served. They will be welcoming in the Chinese New Year. It is the goal of the Foundation to set up an endowment that will kick in by 2014 when the Measure B funds stop going to the Library. It is their hope that the endowment will also furnish emergency funds, provide seed money for projects and programs that will keep the level of service that the library gives to the community. February 10 and 11 you will get a wonderful and rare chance to see the Winter Quarters Conference of the NATIONAL CIVIL WAR ASSOCIATION out at our local BENICIA HISTORICAL MUSEUM AT THE CAMEL BARNS. Events will include classes and demonstrations of economic conditions of the era. Roles will be played by Volunteer Regiments of California.
