RE:Sparring Versus
http://listenandbeheard.net/archives/2006/03/22/sparring-versus
Mind set is important. It is the exact reason why some people who carry a gun for self defense will miss when they are actually in that type of situation.
Targets don’t fire back. Even if you are into a self defense art, or a martial art. Unless you are actually using them in the prescribed situation you will never know how well you handle the rush of adrenaline, and the reality of the situation…..this could hurt and you could get hurt. Most people without real training will miss or shoot over someones head because psychologically most of us are not ready to be killers.
Society has removed a large part of that instinct from us with easy access food, vegetarianism, solid houses with locked doors etc….. 15 min of preparation a week is all we need to really get closer to this killer instinct we all have.
Unless you really fight all the time, or are trained by the military or police, most of us are not prepared to adjust to this different reality.

RE:Ethics and Justice

There are two types of threats in my book.
Light threats – pushing, shoving, yelling, shooting the bird etc…. which can only be retaliated with by one means…………walking away.
Heavy Threats- Everything else. Refer to Mann Act – “You may use whatever force is necessary when you clearly percieve an assualt is about to take place on you, or your persons causing serious bodily harm or death.”

Hi All,
Hope 2007 is treating everyone well. I have been busy since moving on from NHT last year, and wanted to touch base with everyone to give an update on what I’ve been doing. My friend Chris Myers re-designed my website while I have been writing my new smooth jazz CD titled “Sunset on the Carquinez”. Chris is the web designer who recently re-designed the NHT website. The new website has been loaded with audio tracks, video, photo’s and a new blog that I am writing to share the experience of writing an original CD, while performing in the evenings, hiring musicians, recording in the studio, and finding quality time to spend with my wife and kids. The blog is about trying to strike a balance between music, performances, and life. It is a living journal of the process, and my success will be measured by how well it balances!
If you can spare a few minutes I would appreciate it if you would visit my new website, sign the new flash guestbook and (if interested) join the mailing list (top of the booking info page). I’m using the same newsletter software for my mailing list, as the we used at NHT for the monthly newsletters(http://www.constantcontact.com). I’m trying to get real world testing from friends and business associates as the site just went “live” to the public yesterday. Any feedback positive or negative is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,
Kevin Frazier

Thank you for the quick use of my work, Martha. It’s an honor to
have been represented. Wish I lived closer to the cool scene out
that way. Keep that creativity flowing!
