Happy New Year-
On December 26th Lauren (14yrs old), Diane, Ha and myself prepared fifty-three of our usual hefty sack lunches and gave them away to the homeless and needy in People’s Park in Berkeley. We also handed out warm clothing to those who wanted it. Turns out “The North Face” had been there the day before with free warm jackets and stuff. It was great to see the people wearing warm/waterproof jackets. We did have a few takers on our sweaters, gloves and other things so that was nice. It started raining just as we got there and it didn’t seem to matter to anyone. No one ran for shelter or opened up umbrellas. A few North Face hoods went up but all in all rain was just another thing that happens outside. People sat where they were sitting and continued to talk while we handed out the lunches. There was enough to where some people got seconds and were really thankful. One guy told us ” I feel Jesus Christ in my heart” and another guy wanted a hug…no problemo. Thanks to all of you who donated time, clothes and money. Please keep it coming, we do this every month. Just make out and send a check to me and you can be sure that someone hungry is gonna eat or send along something warm, hats and gloves are needed.
Thanks-
