Let it not be said of Listen & Be Heard Poetry Caf�, that we did not recognize or prioritize what was within our grasp to appreciate. A veteran of life, poetry, putting wings to words, love, struggle and joy too.

Those who were present the first time he read �Hurri-hurri-hurri-cane-cane-cane� at the benefit we held following the Katrina Disaster, will probably never forget it. I know I won�t. I remember a time when Q. R. said he wasn�t writing anything new, just reading �old stuff� he still liked. Well that is not true anymore.

There�s music in this man�s words, and meaning, and meter too. We were proud to feature him on the cover of Listen & Be Heard Weekly, and we�re just as proud to present Q. R. Hand Jr., Listen & Be Heard�s Poet Laureate, on October 27 at Listen & Be Heard Poetry Caf�, 818 Marin Street, Downtown Vallejo.
