Words Upon the Waters Katrina Benefit Reading
Poets across the country rallied in the last year to contribute to relief efforts for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Words Upon the Waters, according to the title page, is ?A Poetic Response to Hurricane Katrina by Bay Area Writers and Artists.? Poets with varying backgrounds united to present fundraisers, and this book, that it is hoped will continue to raise money where it is still sorely needed. All the money raised with purchases of this book will go directly to the Center for Independent Living, located in Berkeley. They will distribute the money to Hurricane Katrina survivors with the goal of replacing wheel chairs and other vital equipment needed by the elderly and disabled.
