Battle of the Bands

July 26th, 2006 by maria guevara · No Comments

Worldfolk foundation chose Vallejo?s Chris Club to be a venue for the 8th annual Battle of the Bands. Although it will not be the only venue for the battle, it is the very first time Battle of the Bands has been brought to Vallejo.

Six bands came to compete for the winning title. The Kernan Raymond Project from Oakland performed acoustic sounds. The Seventh Season, a father and son band from Russia joined the B.O.B. for the second time. Crowd favorites Peaceable Jones from Salida, and Common Ground from Redding, had albums already in stores and had a medium size following.

Vacaville band, Suffocate the Creep, brought their own crowd and rocked the house. Vallejo?s own Unmastered Peace shocked and shook the club as followers came and filled the stage. Crowds begged them to play more and more but they were unable to as time ran out after the event.

It was an exciting moment for Vallejo and audience alike as bands played their hearts out for the winning title. Although the winner was not announced that night, it will be posted at www.worldfox.com in a few weeks.
