Speakout – July 5-11, 2006

July 5th, 2006 by Listen & Be Heard · No Comments

Hi Martha,
Hope you’re well and working well!
Just a brief note to say THANKS for your wonderful review of our second CD, Chromatology, in your April 26 edition. We think the writer, Dave Tilton, really got what we are trying to do!
THANKS again for the review, and for your continued support of the arts and artists.
Respectfully,
Raymond

Al Gore?s ? An Inconvenient Truth?

Al Gore has spent the past 6 years wisely, pursuing the truth about Global Warming. He has done more in a two-hour showing of his new film, ?An Inconvenient Truth? than his former adversary, what?s-his-name Bush has done in 6 years of inept, hubris-soaked lying to the American public. It?s not hard to guess where a different President would have taken us as compared to the current abyss of political, environmental, financial, social, and global dysfunction. Keep up the good work, Al Gore, more, more, more.

hi, friends & fiends (poetry fiends, that is)

this is a note just to say “hi” and to remind you of my new poetry venue in sausalito on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of every month (see attached flyer). we had our first two in June and it was so great! the first feature was CeCe Carnes a gorgeous poet who read and recited the most beautiful love poems i’ve ever heard in my life! the second night included a double-feature with Avotcja and Ramone Pinero (from the east coast), two legendary poets who both “wrecked the place” with their dynamic, moving, and soul-inspiring words and spirit.

tomorrow night (July 5th) we’ll be featuring Mother Devine who I guarantee will make you laugh and smile and feel good. M.D. cracks me up every time! She’s like the “cheerleader of poetry”! im so fond of her.

and on July 19th we’ll feature Mark Pinate who is one of the most creative young poets ever, who i not only admire for his creativity and flow but also for his insightfulness. And he’s a really cool guy, too!

of course, there’ll be one hellava open mic before and after the feature! So come on out, if and when you can. besides the features, the folks who have come out are all north bay poets who im just meeting and getting to know. they’re all wonderful poets and the most genuinely good and kind gentle souls i have ever had the joy to meet.

but i miss the rhymes, rhythms, flow and vibe of my “sf-oaktown” rabble-rousers, too! holla!

(dont make me come get you…)

well, that’s all folks! let me know how you doin. here’s wishin and hopin that all is well and fabulous in your lives.

love peace and happiness,
pablo

As you are probably all aware, this anthology will raise funds for Spirit Aid’s operations in Afghanistan, bringing doctors, nurses and medical supplies to remote parts of Afghanistan where there have been no such facilities for quarter of a century. Every book you buy – and I urge you not just to buy for yourself, but for family and friends too – will help save lives.

Bluechrome hope to have the book available for pre-order by 1st September 2006 or shortly after. If you would like to be informed further about the publication schedule, e-mail Anthony Delgrado of Bluechrome at anthony@bluechrome.co.uk
