To Chuck Carrol and all Snoozers: A Letter to the Editor: We took America from the native americans and screwed them in the process, and then we invented our own laws and put them on reservations. Now we?re upset at the illegal immigrants. Jesus Louise, hunger fuels the truck, desparation drives all of us sooner or later or earlier. Let?s hope the hardasses at the edge of civilization or Congress remember their own roots and come up with effective and humane rulings, or else we?re all doomed to go back to our roots and countries of origin, or huddle in a cold cave somewhere else. Peter Bray, Benicia, CA —————————————————————————————————————————————- Good Morning!! I was just checking out the L&BH website, and it is looking good Martha! You guys are awesome! I hope you, Tony, the kids, the coffee girls, Cyndi, and Stephen all have a wonderful day
Hugs, -Jessica Ryan —————————————————————————————————————————————- Hello dog lovers! The day is almost here when our very own dog park will open at Wardlaw Park. Attached is a flyer for you to print out but I’ve also put the information below in case you don’t have a pdf reader and/or want more information. The dog park is 2.2 acres, fully landscaped with an interior walking path, exterior walking path, cool water dispenser, 5 poop bag dispensers, a small/shy/older dog area with it’s own gate and enclosure. The park area itself has plenty of parking, bathrooms, picnic area and a bridge that connects the park to the Blue Rock Springs corridor – a 2+ mile walking path. The dog park is handicap accessible and has benches & tables, trees and lots of lovely grass for the pups to romp. What an exciting event this will be! Thank you all for your support these many years. Our graphics were designed by Amy Petrolati with the graphic of the dogs playing under the tree by Bruce Couch (lives in Oregon). The website (www.WardlawDogPark.com or VallejoDogPark.com) was created by Mark Hutchins (Yaaaay Mark!). Also big thanks to our Benicia-Vallejo Humane Society and Animal Services. The Greater Vallejo Recreation District has really made this park happen – in a big way. HUGE kudo’s go out to GVRD Park Planner, Hew Hesterman who has worked with us for over four years. Wardlaw Park with it’s skate park and dog park is a beautiful contribution to Vallejo we should all be proud of. For those of you interested in getting a Bark Ranger designation, please come to a meeting Monday, 5/8 at the GVRD’s Rec. Center, 225 Amador at 6:30. We’ll have Animal Services and a Sergeant from Vallejo Police Department there to talk about greeting newbies to the park, recognizing puppy play from a potential dog fight, calming anxious handlers, who to call and when if an injury occurs. Being a Bark Ranger is for veteran dog park users. Sure, it’s a responsibility but we believe having strong community support will make this a very healthy and successful park. Here is where you can help. Please come to this meeting, find out more and become a Bark Ranger. Let me know if you need more information, a tour of the park in advance or… Best to you!
