Fear

February 22nd, 2006 by tony mims · No Comments

So you are afraid, and you stand near me in fear.
Wanting and needing in fear;
that’s no way to come to me,
and that’s no way to come to life, your life.

To meet life with fear
is to live life without growth.
And to enter my world there must be growth.

But you say that “I’m trying”
and that “I did come this far
don’t that matter?”
Sure it matters, but would you live your life
on that it just matters.
Would you almost want to live?

There are too many almosts,
and if, buts, and maybes.
You must let those maybes free,
to be with me.
You must let those ifs ands buts maybes free,
to be with me.

Sure everyone carries the scars
of a once pure heart,
that was open and free.
That’s the way everyone had to start
but was met with contradictions
made your heart full of afflictions;
that painted fear and what was once pure,
and you say “I can’t endure.
But I am trying.”

Trying to stop a world that goes around.
Trying to hold on to claims,
and when everything changes
and you talk of yesterday as if it was today,
only you can send your pain away.

Don’t let the mistakes of the past
treat you today like an ass.
The mistakes that happened yesterday
made you what you are today.
Stop trying to blame it on the world,
because you are the key to your world.

And no one did it to you;
remember to your own self be true.
Everything that has happened to you,
you asked for it, you needed it, and wanted it, and you got it.
But did you ask to share?

There is no one to blame but yourself,
no one else.
It’s time that you take the responsibility for your life,
and justify your life with the world.
The world is not responsible for your life.

You can’t blame Mommy or Daddy
or sister nor brother,
not even your first lover,
or the last.
Life moves forward and you must learn from the past.
But you are out there looking for something to hold onto,
when everything changes, go ahead and take the blame,
release the pain.
Then there will be no need to fear
because the responsibility for your life began with you, Dear.
